Track Information

  • Two tracks: Track 1 and Track 2
  • Only Track 2 has a platform—used for all Shore Line East trains

    Madison Station – Limited Service Explanation

  • Madison Station has limited train service because it is not a full-access station. It is the only station on the Shore Line East route without a bridge or underpass for customers to cross between tracks.

  • The station has only one platform, which means trains can serve only one direction at a time.

  • As a result, service is primarily available for:

    • Westbound (toward New Haven) trains during morning commutes

    • Eastbound (toward New London) trains during afternoon commutes

  • A few exceptions to this schedule may occur based on operational needs.

     

Replacement Bus Service

  • Buses pick up/drop off next to the station building by Track 2

     

Train Info Displays

  • No electronic display boards 
  • Paper schedule posted in the covered area and along Track 2.
  • Digital boards and announcements on the platform

     

Parking

  • Surface lot
  • Free daily parking, including holidays
  • No time limits
  • Park at your own risk
  • Spaces are usually available
