Shore Line East Bike Policy

You can bring a bike on CTrail Shore Line East trains at no charge. Store your bike safely and securely so it does not block emergency exits, stay close to your bike, and follow the train crew's instructions.

Electric bikes: electric bikes are allowed at no charge, subject to the conductor's discretion. If there is not enough space to store it safely, or it cannot be stored in a way that keeps a quick, safe exit clear and poses no risk of damage, it cannot board. The fact that it is electric is not itself a concern.

Group bike rides: to bring a group of bikes, contact CTrail customer service at 1-877-287-4337 to arrange. Have ready the stations and train numbers you are traveling to and from, how many bikes, and your contact information.

Amtrak Multi-Ride trains: if you are riding on an Amtrak Multi-Ride train (a monthly or ten-trip ticket converted through Amtrak's Ride Reserve program), a bike reservation and a fee are required. Call Amtrak at 800-872-7245. See amtrak.com/bring-your-bicycle-onboard.
